Frank, Hilmer A. (Eastern Regional Research Laboratory, Philadelphia, Pa.). Influence of low incubation temperature on classification of Pseudomonas geniculata. J. Bacteriol. 84:68-71. 1962.-Biochemical and physiological properties of psychrophilic Pseudomonas geniculata isolates were determined at 8 C and at 27 C. No qualitative differences in taxonomically significant properties were observed as a result of incubation temperature. With sufficient incubation time, classification of psychrophilic strains would not be impaired by low temperatures.

Genome sequence of a novel nicotine-degrading strain, Pseudomonas geniculata N1.
A newly isolated bacterium, Pseudomonas geniculata N1, can efficiently degrade nicotine. Here we present a 4.51-Mb assembly of its genome, which is the first sequence of the P. geniculata group. The sequence contains the genes related to nicotine catabolism and may provide insights into its molecular mechanism for N-heterocyclic degradation.
متن کاملPhysiological and Biochemical Characterization of a Novel Nicotine-Degrading Bacterium Pseudomonas geniculata N1
Management of solid wastes with high nicotine content, such as those accumulated during tobacco manufacturing, poses a major challenge, which can be addressed by using bacteria such as Pseudomonas and Arthrobacter. In this study, a new species of Pseudomonas geniculata, namely strain N1, which is capable of efficiently degrading nicotine, was isolated and identified. The optimal growth conditio...
متن کاملInfluence of Incubation Conditions on Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas Fluorescens Isolated from Dairy Products and Dairy Manufacturing Plants
In this study, biofilm formation of 64 Pseudomonas fluorescens strains isolated from milk, dairy products and dairy plants was compared. The strains were grown on Tryptic Soy Broth supplemented with 0.2% of glucose, on polystyrene microplates at 10 and 30°C for 48 h. In general, 57/64 P. fluorescens strains formed biofilm, although with great variability at both tested temperatures. Moreover, o...
متن کاملIsolation, Optimization, and Molecular Characterization of a Lipase Producing Bacterium from Oil Contaminated Soils
Lipases have many applications in biotechnology, thanks to their ability of acylglycerides hydrolysis. They alsp possess the unique feature of acting at the lipid-water interface, which distinguishes them from esterases. Commercially useful lipases are produced by microorganisms with the extracellular lipase being produced by many bacteria including Pseudomonas. The greatest production of lipas...
